I Came, I Thawed, I Stayed.
16 years in Sarasota, Florida and no regrets, other than the friends, family and the
ambience of the Twin cities.
In the last 50 years a lot has gone through my short life span. Retired 3 times. The
last time because for cancer, but that was taken care of by a great team in Florida
and Our Lady of Fatima (a long story). However, I am in 100% remission and, due to
boredom, back at work helping the hearing impaired.
I truly believe that I have had a plethora of memorable and, for the most part, very
rewarding experiences.
From De I went to St Thomas for two years then to St Cloud for 2 quarters. Then to
the MN Air Guard for a summer of R&R until, upon my return from basic training,
my unit was activated for the Berlin Crisis.
Then to the U of MN and pre med until I discovered the theater department and a
whole new world.
I've gone from a professional actor/director in Chicago, New York, LA, and of
course the Twin Cities (Guthrie, Old Log, TV commercials, industrials, etc). To
Manager of Sales for Honeywell Communications Services. Then to several
incidental career experiences to pass the time. Finally to becoming a Hearing Aid
Specialist, and after a lot more schooling, an Audioprosthologist in the American
Conference of Audioprosthology, where I am now and will and will probably end
(unless another challenge comes along).
I have a lovely wife from the east coast (Annapolis) who has been putting up with
my antics for almost 30 years; a beautiful daughter (Jennifer), son-in-law (Jeff), and 2
grandchildren who reside in Minnetonka. The sole responsibility of Jeff and Jennie
is to take care of Maureen's and my grandchildren. I forgot to mention, my wife's
name is Maureen O'Hara Belanger (and she wanted to keep her maiden name
-NOT!) (She did say I could change mine to John Wayne or John Payne).
That sure is 50 years in a nutshell.

After all the experiences and adventures I have had the opportunity
to enjoy, the one that I am looking foreword to most at this time in
my life is our upcoming reunion.
